Thus amended by the publication in La Gaceta No.30, on February 12th, 2008. 2.3 Modification Procedure: 2.3.1 Online Modification: In agreement with the above instructions on Article 2.2, the steps to follow for a modification by a contact are:
The modification in a Contact's personal data and/or change of the Administrative NIC-Handle and/or Domain Name Technician will be automatically applied to the database once the proper online Application for Modification has been completed and sent successfully. The modification in the Third Level DNS data will be applied to the Primary DNS at a maximum of 24-working hours, after NIC-Internet Costa Rica has received the online application and has approved it. NIC-Internet Costa Rica will send an online notice and automatically the contacts will be informed of the changes. For the compliance of the 24-working-hour period for the requested modification to be successful, it is essential that the information be sent to us correctly. The 24-working-hour period is the valid term except in case of force majeure events, which are out of control of the National Academy of Sciences and its office, NIC-Internet Costa Rica. For Second DNS data modification, the maximum time to carry this modification out would be a 24-calendar-hour period. The other conditions mentioned above apply as well. Thus amended by the publication in La Gaceta No.237, on December 7th, 2009. 2.3.2 Modification brought about via the Administrative Office (personally visiting NIC-Internet Costa Rica office to present the required paperwork): Modifications in this manner shall be the exception, whenever the changes or modifications cannot be made online, as we have established in Articles 2.2 and 2.3.1 of this document. It shall also be performed in likewise manner any corrections in the Domain Holders name, as we have established in Article 2.2 of this document. Thus amended by the publication in La Gaceta No.30, on February 12th, 2008. 2.3.2.1 At Domain Holders Request: The Domain Holders may request modifications whenever any of the following cannot be performed: changes of the Contacts of a domain, and/or the change of NIC-Handle of the Contacts of a domain, and/or the change in the DNS cannot be performed by the Contacts as we have established in Articles 2.2 and 2.3.1 of this document, and whenever there is a correction in the Holders name, as it has been established in Article 2.2. Clause c) of this document. In these cases, if the Domain Holder is a corporate entity, the paperwork to be provided would be the following:

Thus amended by the publication in La Gaceta No.30, on February 12th, 2008. 2.3.2.2 At the Contacts' Request: The Domain Name Contacts will be able to request modifications when the changes of Contacts and/or NIC-Handle of the Domain Name Contacts, and/or changes in the DNS cannot be modify by them, according to Articles 2.2 and 2.3.1 in this document, whether the Domain Holder is an individual or a corporation. For all the above cases, the original paperwork must be sent to the NIC-Internet Costa Rica office. When requesting the modification in the Domain Name Contacts, the new Contacts must first sign-up as ÔContact' in our Official Website http://www.nic.cr, prior to sending the original paperwork in the NIC-Internet Costa Rica office. For a Third Level Domain Name, once the paperwork has been received, the changes will be applied to the database and/or Primary DNS, accordingly, at a maximum of 24-working-hour period; if and when the information which has been provided is correct and complies with the above requisites. The 24-working-hour period is the valid term except in case of force majeure events, which are out of control of the National Academy of Sciences and its office, NIC-Internet Costa Rica. For Second Level Domain Name changes in the Primary DNS database and server, accordingly, the maximum time to apply these changes would be a 24-calendar-hour period. When a domain is disconnected in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 3.4 of this document, NIC-Internet Costa Rica does not apply to requests for modifications to the Information of the name servers. Thus amended by the publication in La Gaceta No.30, on February 12, 2008. 2.4 Exceptions During a controversy Contacts, Domain Holders or NIC-Costa Rica shall not be able to request any modifications in accordance with Article 8 of ".cr" Domain Name Conflict Resolution Policy and its Regulations, which are established on this document.
