7.1 Type of Payments:

There are two types of payment methods:

1. By registration: Paid only once upon registration and the payment may be for over one year (Multi-payments).
2. By renewal: Paid upon expiration date or last renewal and the payment may be for over one year (Multi-payments).

These Domain Name rates for registration or renewal should be paid before NIC-Internet Costa Rica completes either process.

These Domain Name rates for registration or renewal cannot be reimbursed after NIC-Internet Costa Rica has completed any of the process. Exception to the above is in the Article 5.3 in this document.

The National Academy of Sciences, through its dependence NIC-Internet Costa Rica, should modify the Domain Name rates for registration or renewal due to promotional or other special activities. These modifications will apply for limited time and will rule by the regulation issued for every modification. These will not be retroactive nor will extend beyond the expiration date expressed in the respective ruling, except otherwise expressed in the communication. Besides, they will not require the updating of the Policy document for neither the Top Level Domain.CR nor its publication in the official newspaper, La Gaceta, and could be paid or suspended anytime by the National Academy of Sciences through its office, NIC-Internet Costa Rica, or circumstances that deeply attempt against the interests of this entity and its office. The modifications in the Domain Name rates for registration and renewal for promotional activities and any other fees will be communicated through the Official Website http://www.nic.cr, and other means that the National Academy of Sciences, through NIC-Internet Costa Rica, sees fit.

7.4 Methods of payment in Costa Rica and from abroad:

The payment methods available are:

Deposits: on the current account, Nº: 080-600043-7, in US Dollars, to the name of the National Academy of Sciences, at the Banco de Nacional de Costa Rica.

Credit and debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and Dinners.

Wire transfer: through Internet Banking from Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, the current account Nº: 080-600043-7 in US Dollars, to the name of the National Academy of Sciences, at the Banco de Nacional de Costa Rica.

Wire transfer: through SINPE (National Payment Electronic System). For this system, on the current account Nº: 080-600043-7 in US Dollars, to the name of the National Academy of Sciences, at the Banco de Nacional de Costa Rica. The number is: 15108010026000431. To make the banking transfer, the applicant must express to NIC-Internet Costa Rica the Domain Name where this payment should be credited.

Wire transfer from abroad:

The banking transfer payment does not include the banking fee, which must be covered by the applicant. In addition, the Banco Nacional will charge US$10 to anyone abroad making a Domain Name payment upon receiving the wire transfer.
